There was no honest playbook for building in Africa. So we wrote one.
These Terms of Sale were last updated on September 17, 2026 and apply to every purchase of Markets Don’t Lie through our website.
Our website, https://withpace.org (hereinafter: “the website”), is operated by Pan African Center for Entrepreneurship (hereinafter: “we” or “us”). In these Terms of Sale we explain what you receive when you buy Markets Don’t Lie (hereinafter: “the book”), how it is delivered, what you may do with it, and what rights you have. We recommend that you read this document carefully before you buy.
These terms apply in addition to the terms of the payment provider described in section 3. Where the book is sold through that provider, its terms govern the payment, and these terms govern the book.
The book is a work of analysis on entrepreneurship in African markets, written by Khalil Liouane and published by us. It is being published while it is still being written, which means that the order, content and timing of its chapters may change as the work develops. We do not commit to a completion date.
When you buy the book, you receive:
We deliver the book as a PDF. After your payment, you receive a download link by email through SendOwl, ordinarily within a few minutes. That link gives you the chapters released at the time of your purchase. We send each further chapter, and the finished edition, to the same email address as it becomes available.
If the link does not arrive, please check your spam folder, then contact us using the details in section 12 and we will send it again.
The price of the book is shown on the website before you buy. Prices may be converted into your local currency at checkout. We may change the price at any time, and a change never affects a purchase already made.
Payment is processed by Stripe. For these transactions, Link acts as the merchant of record, which means that Link is the seller for the payment itself. Your purchase appears as “Sold through Link”, and your bank statement shows LINK.COM followed by our name.
Link sends your receipt and any invoice or refund notification, and handles payment and refund support. Link’s own terms apply to the payment. We remain responsible for the book, its delivery and the readers’ community.
Any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies is calculated and collected at checkout by the provider named in 3.2, which also files and remits it to the relevant tax authority.
Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable right to read the book and to quote briefly from it with attribution.
Every copy you download is marked with your name and email address. You may not share, resell, publish or redistribute the book or any substantial part of it, and you may not upload it anywhere that others can download it. We remain the owner of the copyright in the book.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you ordinarily have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once delivery begins with your express agreement, which you give at checkout.
Where part of the book has not yet been released at the time of your purchase, your right of withdrawal in respect of that part runs from the moment we deliver it.
Refund requests are handled by the provider named in 3.2, which can issue a refund within 60 days of your purchase in certain cases. You may also contact us using the details in section 12. We assess every request fairly, in particular where the book is not as described or the download did not work.
The invitation to our readers’ community on WhatsApp forms part of your purchase, and joining is your choice. The community exists for discussion of the book and the questions it raises. We ask that you keep it constructive, and that you do not use it to promote your own products or to share the book. We may remove anyone who does.
We may close or relocate the community, which does not affect your access to the book. How we process your personal data in the community is described in our Privacy Policy.
The book sets out our analysis and experience. It is not professional, legal, financial or investment advice, and we cannot promise any particular outcome from applying it. You remain responsible for your own decisions.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not allow it, including liability for death, personal injury, fraud or intent.
These terms do not apply to the websites and services of third parties, including the payment, delivery and community platforms named above. We are not responsible for how those parties provide their services. Please read their own terms.
We process personal data in connection with your purchase, including your email address and order details. What we process, why, and for how long is set out in our Privacy Policy.
We may change these terms for future purchases. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. The terms that apply to your purchase are those in force at the time you bought the book.
Dutch law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer, this does not affect the protection you have under the law of the country where you live.
If something is wrong, please contact us first using the details in section 12. If we cannot resolve it together, you may bring a claim before the competent court, or use the consumer dispute resolution options available in the country where you live.
